Nusa Tasks — com.nusatasks.app
Nusa Tasks is a local-first app. Your tasks, notes, habits and settings are stored on your device. They are never uploaded to us, and we do not operate a server that receives your content. The same policy is shown inside the app under Settings › Privacy & data.
Nothing. Nusa Tasks has no account system, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting service and no tracking of any kind. We cannot see your data, because it never leaves your device unless you export it yourself.
The release build does not even request Android’s INTERNET permission, so the app has no way to send anything over the network.
All of it lives in a local database in the app’s private storage area. Under Android’s security model, other apps cannot read it.
To keep the home-screen widget up to date, the app keeps a small copy of your upcoming tasks: the due times and done state of tasks due in the next two weeks, and the titles of the first few open tasks of each day. This copy is refreshed whenever your tasks change, sits in the app’s private preferences storage rather than the main database, and is used only to draw the widget.
The widget, like reminder notifications, shows task titles on your home screen. Whether notification content also appears on your lock screen follows your device’s lock-screen settings.
| Permission | Why it is requested | If you deny it |
|---|---|---|
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) | Show task reminders, habit reminders and the optional planning/review nudges. | Everything else keeps working; reminders simply do not appear. |
Exact alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM) | Deliver a reminder at the exact minute you chose. | Reminders still arrive, scheduled inexactly, and may be a few minutes late. |
Boot completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) | Re-arm your scheduled reminders after the device restarts. | Reminders set before a restart would be lost. |
| File selection | Only when you tap Import and pick a backup file. | Import is unavailable; nothing else changes. |
Android also grants a few permissions automatically, without asking you. They come from libraries the app is built with and give no access to your content:
| Permission | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
Vibration (VIBRATE) | The notification library, so a reminder can vibrate. |
Wake lock (WAKE_LOCK), foreground service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE), network state (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) | Android’s WorkManager, which the home-screen widget library (Jetpack Glance) uses to run its work in the background. Network state only tells whether the device is online; without the INTERNET permission the app still cannot send anything. |
Nusa Tasks does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone or any other sensitive permission.
Export data writes a JSON file containing your tasks, categories, habits, notes, focus history, achievements and preferences, and hands it to whichever app you choose (email, cloud drive, file manager). What happens to that copy afterwards is governed by the app you sent it to. Nusa Tasks does not upload it anywhere.
Android’s own Auto Backup is switched off. The app declares android:allowBackup="false" and data extraction rules that exclude every storage domain from both Google Drive backup and device-to-device transfer, so the system never copies your tasks, notes or habits off the device.
Nusa Tasks is a general-purpose productivity tool. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
If the app ever gains a feature that transmits data (for example an optional cloud backup), this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the feature will be opt-in. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised with every change.
